Louis Ledbetter is a direct descendant of one of the founding fathers of the blues. He is the great grandson of Huddie “Leadbelly” Ledbetter who popularized the most famous version of “The Midnight Special” and composed the rock classic, “Black Betty”. This scion of blues royalty is an accomplished bass player who has accompanied Ike & Tina Turner, Bobby Hutcherson and Herbie Mann as a rock or jazz bassist, and has performed at area venues like the Hollywood Palladium and Hollywood Bowl. He has also toured extensively throughout Japan.

These days Louis leads the power blues trio, Ledbetter Blues with a mix of classic blues, hard rock and soul favorites along with newer covers and original tunes from the band. Ledbetter Blues has been featured in blues clubs in the Greater Los Angeles area, Orange County and San Diego. The band's setlist includes tunes from BB King, Muddy Waters, Traffic, James Brown, Prince and their own crowd pleasing originals. Ledbetter Blues was also a featured Artist Of The Week on Gary "The Wagman" Wagner's Blues program on KLON.
